How to Create my Jungle Themed Backdrop

Things you're going to need to make your own DIY photo-worthy party backdrop:

1. Crepe paper streamers

2. Coloured A4 card

3. String

4. Wooden pegs

5. Scissors

6. Double-sided sticky tape

First, it’s time to create your Crepe Paper Streamer Backdrop:

To create this you need to:

1. Choose where your backdrop is going and hang up your string,

2. Measure the area you want to cover with crepe paper (Top Tip: Measure from the top of your string to the floor if you want a full length photo booth backdrop. Or, if you are creating a backdrop to a birthday party present table, or a birthday party food table, you just need to measure from the top of your string to just past the top of the table)

3. Double this measurement, and cut the crepe paper streamers (Top Tip: You need to double this measurement as you are going to fold the tissue paper in half, this cuts out any need to attach the streamers to the string, as gravity will do the work for us)

4. Take one of the crepe paper streamers and fold it over the string, gently pulling the paper down until each end meets,

5. Repeat this with each crepe paper streamer until the backdrop is complete.

Next up; the Tropical Leaf Garland:

To create the tropical leaf garland which will clip along the top of your jungle themed backdrop, you need to:

1. Choose your colourful A4 Card and fold in half,

2. Cut a half circle away from the folded side,

3. On the curved edge cut away varying sizes of triangles,

4. Unfold the card,

5. Stick a piece of double sided tape along the fold,

6. Attach a small wooden peg to the tape,

7. Clip your leaf to the top of your backdrop.

Once you have covered the top of your backdrop with your tropical leaves you can use any remaining tropical leaves to decorate the table. I used a brown/gold table cloth to cover the top of my table, and wrapped my gifts in my party animals gift wrap.
